Lapland Travel
A week in the purest nature of Lapland
Luosto is the place where Lapland truly comes alive – a cozy village nestled in the Pyhä-Luosto National Park, surrounded by silence, snowy forests, and the magical northern lights.
Take a ride on a husky sled, explore the white wilderness on a snowmobile, or discover the only amethyst mine in Europe that you can enter yourself. Here, you'll experience the tranquility, nature, and magic of Lapland like nowhere else.
We offer you 4 standard activities included in your trip to Lapland: husky safari, snowmobile tour, snowshoe hike & northern lights expedition.
You can find a sample activity schedule here.
Do you have questions about the activities? There's a good chance you'll find the answer in our FAQs!

For many, a dream come true. After a ride of about half an hour, we arrive in the territory of these enthusiastic four-legged friends. The dogs are eager to show us what they can do and take us 10 kilometers through their area.
Before you hop on your own sled, you'll receive instructions on how to steer the sled, how to brake, and how to handle the dogs. Then, you and your partner will choose a team of 5 to 6 dogs that will take you to the finish line. You'll be in charge of steering your sled. Halfway through, you'll have the chance to switch places with your passenger. After the ride, we’ll have time to warm up in a Finnish cabin with (of course) a cup of hot berry juice.

Since the Sami (the oldest, independent, recognized people in Lapland) discovered this motorized vehicle, they let their reindeer roam free and traded their pulling power for sturdy horsepower. Today, many of them use snowmobiles for their daily commutes and a bit of adventure, but mostly to herd their reindeer.
After we are clearly instructed on how to safely operate these machines, we set off in pairs for a 20-kilometer ride through the Lapland landscape. Halfway through, we take a break to switch drivers.

* If you do not have a driver’s license B, you can experience the ride as a passenger. Children from 4 years old can sit in a sled attached to the instructor's snowmobile. Children taller than 140 cm may sit as passengers with an adult, provided the instructor agrees.

To best observe the northern lights, your guide will take you to a carefully selected spot. While we hope for a stunning display, it's still a natural phenomenon, and there's no guarantee we'll actually see it. As we eagerly watch the sky, we'll make a campfire. Your guide will share fascinating stories about local myths and legends, as well as the scientific explanation behind this extraordinary phenomenon. In the meantime, we'll enjoy a warm drink, a roasted sausage, or some marshmallows.

Is traveling with children possible?
Children are welcome, but keep in mind there are age restrictions for certain activities. Children under 4 years old cannot participate in some activities, and for others, there is a minimum age of 12 years. This means that sometimes an adult may have to stay behind.
