Rovaniemi, the village of Santa Claus

Experience the winter magic of Rovaniemi, the official home of Santa Claus. In addition to the festive atmosphere, this destination offers a paradise of snowy forests, husky rides, and the Northern Lights.

Get out there on a snowmobile, explore the beautiful Ounasvaara hill, or warm up in a traditional Sámi sauna. Whether you’re seeking adventure or relaxation, Rovaniemi is the perfect spot for an unforgettable winter experience!

Although Rovaniemi is known as the capital of Lapland, it offers – thanks to our selection of accommodations and partners – an authentic experience, far away from the hustle and bustle. Some accommodations are nestled right in nature, allowing you to enjoy the peace and magic of the Sámi landscape while still being close to the main activities.

Your schedule in Rovaniemi

This schedule is an example and may vary week by week, depending on the time slots we arrange in consultation with our local partners. However, it gives you a good idea of what your week in Lapland could look like, guided by our Dutch-speaking guides.

We recommend adding 3 to 4 optional activities to the basic package. This way, you’ll get the most out of your stay while still having enough free time to relax.

The activities take place in small groups of up to 12 people and are spread throughout the week. You will receive your final weekly schedule about 2 weeks before departure.

Children

Is traveling with children possible?

Children are welcome, but keep in mind there are age restrictions for certain activities. Children under 4 years old cannot participate in some activities, and for others, there is a minimum age of 12 years. This means that sometimes an adult may have to stay behind.

Additionally, it's important to realize that young children may not be able to express if they're too cold. That's why we recommend this trip for children from 6 years old, when they can participate more actively and communicate their needs better.

Is there a discount for children?

For children, we offer the following discounts on the standard package (standard activities, accommodation, and flight):

  • Babies (0 to 2 years): € 350 discount & can fly for free (on the lap).
  • Preschoolers (2 to 5 years): € 350 discount.
  • Children (5 to 12 years): € 100 discount.

All extras like clothing, insurance, and optional activities will still be charged for babies, preschoolers, and children.
