The other questions you have about Lapland

What clothes should I wear on the plane?

Of course, it doesn't matter too much what clothes you wear during the flight. It's best to opt for comfortable clothing. If it's cold, for example, you can wear thermal leggings under your pants. Don't forget to bring a warm winter coat. Make sure to pack your hat and gloves in your carry-on, so you have them handy as soon as you arrive.

The Kittilä airport is small, so you can hop straight onto the shuttle bus. However, keep in mind that you might have to wait a bit before you can check into your accommodation upon arrival at your destination. That's why it's a good idea to dress warmly in advance.

Can I use my phone in these temperatures?

Yes, but the battery drains faster. Keep your phone warm by keeping it close to your body, and consider bringing a power bank.

Do you have a packing list?

Of course! You can check the packing list here. In it, you'll find all the tips & tricks to keep you safe from the Lapland cold.

What is included with the thermal clothing?

For Luosto:

  • A full suit (jacket + pants)
  • Snow boots
  • Thermal mittens

For Rovaniemi:

  • A full suit (jacket + pants)
  • Snow boots
  • Thermal mittens
What sizes do you offer?

We offer shoes up to UK size 15 (EUR size 50). For thermal clothing, this goes up to size XXL. It's important that you provide your sizes correctly in your profile, so we can check and set aside the sizes in advance. Upon arrival, you will have the opportunity to try on your thermal suit and boots and, if necessary, change sizes.

When will I receive the thermal clothing?

The thermal suit and shoes are available from Sunday afternoon until Sunday morning. You can keep the suit during this period, so you can wear it in your free time, for example, when you go out in the evening to spot the northern lights.

For some activities, it's essential to wear the suit. The guides will make this clear on site. For instance, it's important to wear the suit during the husky safari and snowmobile tour. Due to the speed and sitting still, you can cool down quickly. It's also recommended to wear the suit for the northern lights expedition.
