Lapland Travel
A week in the silence of Lapland
Luosto is where Lapland truly comes to life, a cozy village in the heart of Pyhä-Luosto National Park, surrounded by endless silence, snow-covered forests and the magic of the northern lights.
Ride through the wilderness on a husky sled, explore the snowy landscapes by snowmobile or step inside Europe’s only amethyst mine that visitors can enter themselves. Here, you experience Lapland in its purest form: nature, adventure and a rare sense of calm far away from the rest of the world.
Ready to experience the magic of Lapland for yourself?
We offer you 4 standard activities that are included in your trip to Lapland: husky safari, snowmobile tour, snowshoe hike & northern lights experience.
Check out an example of an activity schedule.

For many, a dream come true. After a short ride, we arrive in the territory of these enthusiastic four-legged friends. The dogs are eager to show us what they can do and take us 10 kilometers through their area.
Before you hop on your own sled, you'll receive instructions on how to steer the sled, how to brake, and how to handle the dogs. You'll be in charge of steering your own sled. Halfway through, you'll have the chance to switch places with your passenger. After the ride, we’ll have time to warm up in a Finnish cabin with (of course) a cup of hot berry juice.

Since the Sami (the oldest, independent, recognized people of Lapland) discovered this motorized vehicle, they let their reindeer roam free and swapped their pulling power for sturdy horsepower. Today, many of them use snowmobiles for their daily commutes and some thrill-seeking, but mainly to herd their reindeer.
After we’re clearly instructed on how to safely operate these machines, we set off in pairs for a 20-kilometer journey through the Lapland landscape. We stop halfway to switch drivers.

* If you do not have a driver's license B, you can experience the ride as a passenger. Children from 4 years old can sit in a sled attached to the instructor's snowmobile. Children taller than 140 cm may sit as a passenger with an adult, provided the instructor agrees.

To best observe the northern lights, your guide will take you to a carefully selected spot. While we hope for a stunning display, it's still a natural phenomenon, and there's no guarantee we'll actually see it. As we eagerly watch the sky, we'll make a campfire. Your guide will share fascinating stories about local myths and legends, as well as the scientific explanation behind this extraordinary phenomenon. In the meantime, we'll enjoy a warm drink, a roasted sausage, or some marshmallows.

Is traveling with children possible?
Children are welcome, but keep in mind there are age restrictions for certain activities. Children under 4 years old cannot participate in some activities, and for others, there is a minimum age of 12 years. This means that sometimes an adult may have to stay behind.
Additionally, it's important to realize that young children may not be able to express if they're too cold. That's why we recommend this trip for children from 6 years old, when they can participate more actively and communicate their needs better.
